EFFECTIVE EXCHANGE RATES INDICES - Monthly Dataeus_effective_exchange_rates_indices_monthly_data

This dataset contains monthly values for nominal and real effective exchange rates (NEER and REER) for various countries from 1999 to the current year. The dataset includes the date, symbol, and corresponding exchange rate value. The symbols indicate the country and the type of exchange rate, for example, 'AT-NEER37' represents the nominal effective exchange rate for Austria. Nominal Effective Exchange Rate, NEER (37 trading partners, 42 trading partners)
Nominal effective series measure changes in the value of a currency against a trade-weighted basket of currencies. A rise in the index means a strengthening of the currency. The index is calculated against different groups of trading partners and for different currencies. It is produced by the European Commission (DG ECFIN).

Real Effective Exchange Rate, REER (37 trading partners, 42 trading partners)
Real effective series are a measure of the change in competitiveness of a country or geographical area, by taking into account the change in costs or prices relative to other countries. A rise in the index means a loss of competitiveness. The index is calculated against different groups of trading partners and for different currencies. It is produced by the European Commission (DG ECFIN).

HARMONIZED INDEX OF CONSUMER PRICES (HICP) - Monthly Dataeus_harmonised_index_of_consumer_prices_monthly_data

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) gives comparable measures of inflation for the countries and country groups for which it is produced. It is an economic indicator that measures the change over time of the prices of consumer goods and services acquired by households. In other words, it is a set of consumer price indices (CPI) calculated according to a harmonised approach and a set of definitions as laid down in Regulations and recommendations.

In addition, the HICP provides the official measure of consumer price inflation in the euro area for the purposes of monetary policy and the assessment of inflation convergence as required under the Maastricht criteria for accession to the euro.

The HICP is available for all EU Member States, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. In addition to the individual country series there are three key country-group aggregate indices: the euro area, the European Union (EU), and the European Economic Area (EEA), which, in addition to the EU, also covers Iceland and Norway, but not Liechtenstein.

This dataset contains monthly values for the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for various countries from 1996 to the current year. The dataset includes the date, symbol, and corresponding HICP value. The symbols indicate the country and the type of HICP, for example, 'AT CP-HI00 HICP2015' represents the HICP for all items in Austria. Additionally, the dataset provides brief descriptions of each symbol, such as the specific type of HICP and the country associated with it. The dataset includes data for over 900,000 rows.
